Catt. County Sports Banquet
The 21st annual Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame banquet will be held on Saturday, March 28 at the Gowanda Moose Lodge beginning at 5 p.m.
The 10 inductees for the Class of 2026 and the school/community that they represent are: James Duprey (Pioneer), Steve Fitzgerald (Salamanca), Cliff Wheeler (Gowanda), Valerie Waldron Hedlund (Franklinville), Derek Hill (Cattaraugus-Little Valley), Chris Mendell (Ellicottville), Jack Amphlett (Archbishop Walsh), Kelly Unverdorben (Portville), Kathy Stamets (Allegany-Limestone) and Dennis Turner (Olean).
The banquet is open to the public. Tickets for the event that include a social, sports raffle, buffet dinner and induction ceremony are $35.
All previous inductees are encouraged to attend and will be introduced after dinner. Reservations can be made by calling/texting banquet coordinator Mark Benton at 716-770-8809 or by emailing hidibenton@gmail.com. The deadline for ticket reservations is March 20.
