High school sports are back with the first action during the week ending on September 6. With that, our weekly GCS Varsity Scoreboard is back as well. The first, and only, home action saw the Varsity Volleyball team hosting Cattaraugus-Little Valley. The above photo is from that action. After a postponement for a week due to stormy conditions, the 2026 Ducky Derby finally took place on August 30. After the race, the Gowanda Area Chamber of Commerce posted the winners on their Facebook page.
