April 30 Boys Lacrosse
The Gowanda Varsity boys lacrosse team took on Salamanca at Hillis Field on April 30. After Salamanca landed the 1st goal, the score would be tied at 1-1 through 5-5 before Gowanda pulled into an 8-6 lead by halftime. Salamanca outscored Gowanda 4-1 in the 3rd quarter to move back in front 10-9. Each team would add a pair of goals in the final quarter with Gowanda’s final goal coming with 15 seconds left in the game. Gowanda, unable to control the final face-off, fell one goal short 11-12.

April 28 Girls Lacrosse
The Gowanda Varsity girls lacrosse team hosted North Tonawanda on April 28. Gowanda got off to a rough start unable to move play out of their own end for the first several minutes of the opening quarter. With 3:42 left in the period, Lily Scanlan finally got Gowanda on the board. She added the tying goal a minute later. Cadence Luther added the go ahead goal just 16 seconds later giving Gowanda a 3-2 advantage as the quarter ended. Gowanda went on a 5-goal tear in the 2nd quarter taking their lead to 10-2 at halftime. The Gowanda lead was 14-5 going into the final quarter. With 3:38 left in the game, Felicia Scanlan score the final Gowanda goal in the game. The last 4 minutes saw North Tonawanda add a final 3 goals to their tally, the last of those coming with 4 seconds left. That made the final score 17-8.

April 24 Girls Lacrosse
The Gowanda Varsity girls lacrosse team hosted Amherst on April 24. Gowanda started out strong taking a 2-0 lead. They finished the 1st quarter up 3-2 with Envy Cross breaking a 2-2 tie with 2:32 left in the period. By halftime, the game was tied 4-4. A strong Amherst 3rd quarter saw them open up a 9-5 advantage over Gowanda. After a questionable Amherst goal to open the final quarter, Gowanda came back strong, but not enough to avoid their first loss, 12-8.
