Gowanda Small Town Times

The Varsity Fall Sports season ended for Gowanda on November 7 at Wilson as the football team took a loss in the Sectional Semi-Finals. An overall strong Gowanda effort was doomed by repeated mistakes at critical times. It was a game that started with Wilson having to kickoff 3 times before the ball landed in bounds. Gowanda then fumbled away the snap on their 1st play of the game. Past that point, Gowanda was stingy on defense most of the time including stopping Wilson on a 4th and goal on the 1. That effort was undercut by occasional missed tackles that turned potential Wilson lost yardage into huge breakaway runs. Similarly, the Gowanda offense was able to move the ball well most of the time only to be set back by drive-ending penalties.
