May 19 Girls Lacrosse
Gowanda’s Varsity girls lacrosse team opened playoff season on May 19, 2025 hosting Springville. While Springville scored first, just 2-1/2 minutes into the game, Gowanda rallied for a 5-1 lead after one quarter. That grew to 8-2 by halftime. Gowanda shutout Springville in the 3rd quarter to take a 11-2 advantage. Both teams added a pair of 4th quarter goals giving Gowanda a 13-4 win.
Gowanda’s Karice John (#14) scores with 7:57 left in the 1st quarter to tie the game at 1-1. She led the Gowanda scoring with 4 goals.
Lily Scanlon (#4) outruns Springville defenders in the 1st quarter. She totaled five assists in the Gowanda win.
With 2:54 left in the opening quarter, Ainsley Horth (#17) scores to put Gowanda ahead 4-1. She had two goals in the game as did Envy cross ans Lillianna Pierce (#10).
On defense, Felicia Scanlon (#6) chases a Springville attacker. Felicia was Gowanda’s seconda highest scorer with three goals. She also contributed 6 goals on offense for Gowanda. Lily Scanlon is seen in the background.
