April 24 Girls Lacrosse
The Gowanda Varsity girls lacrosse team hosted Amherst on April 24. Gowanda started out strong taking a 2-0 lead. They finished the 1st quarter up 3-2 with Envy Cross breaking a 2-2 tie with 2:32 left in the period. By halftime, the game was tied 4-4. A strong Amherst 3rd quarter saw them open up a 9-5 advantage over Gowanda. After a questionable Amherst goal to open the final quarter, Gowanda came back strong, but not enough to avoid their first loss, 12-8.
Felicia Scanlan (#6) opens the scoring putting Gowanda up 1-0.
Envy Cross (#8) breaks a 2-2 tie to put Gowanda up 3-2.
In the 2nd quarter, Hannah Valentine (#7) and Malayna Pawlak (#9) chase down an Amherst player. In the background is #23, Zoe Bartlett.
