Gowanda Small Town Times

The Eden Corn Festival is underway. Several Gowanda-area runners participated in the August 2 “Run For The Corn” races that are a part of that event.

The feature race was run on a 3.8-mile trail around the Eden Festival site and school. Three runners connected with the GCS cross country team finished in the Top 5 in that event. They are Chase Bolen (Gowanda, 1st, 23:08), Calie Hudson (Gowanda, 3rd, 26:36) and Maddox Hudson (Gowanda, 4th, 27:32).

Five other Gowanda-area runners also participated in the race. They were: Brendin Diebel (Gowanda, 8th, 28:58), Jeffery Whipple (Collins, 14th, 35:34), Helena Wallschlaeger (Collins, 15th, 37:02), Aimee Gernatt (Collins, 16th, 37:25) and Kiernan Quinn (Gowanda, 18th, 41:09).

Two other local runners took part in the shorter Run For The Corn (2.2 Mile Trail).

Teresa Fink (Collins, 13th, 31:26) and Kristin Quinn (Gowanda, 20th, 38:30).

Jamestown Community College has announced the part-time Dean’s Lists for this past Fall and Spring semesters. Several Gowanda high school students appear on those lists. To be eligible, students must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.50 or better while enrolled in six to 11 degree credits.
