Inkley sets Randolph record; Fredonia splits with CL/W/B

RANDOLPH - Caden Inkley set a Randolph record in the pole vault, but Maple Grove took close results in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association boys and girls track against the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Inkley cleared 14 feet, 5 inches in the pole vault, but the Red Dragons beat Randolph 76-63 in the boys matchup.

Ethan Verbosky was a double winner in the 1,600 meters (5:01.9) and 400 meters (50.5) for Maple Grove.

In addition to his victory in the pole vault, Inkley won the 110-meter hurdles (17.0) and 200 meters (23.7).

In the girls matchup, Kylie Kress and Evalyn Fessel were double winners for Maple Grove in a 70-66 win.

Kress took the 100 meters (13.4) and 200 meters (27.4) while Fessel claimed the 1,500 meters (5:36.9) and 800 meters (2:36.8) for the Red Dragons.

Alyia Oliverio captured the long jump (13-11) and triple jump (27-9.5) while Brooke Reding won the shot put (28-4) and discus (99-4) for the Cardinals.

GOWANDA - Frewsburg beat Gowanda 88-49 in girls action and 94-43 in boys action.

Grace Lennon was a triple winner for the Bears with victories in the 100 meters (12.6), 200 meters (27.0) and 400 meters (1:06.8) for the girls. Teghan Trocki captured the 1,500 meters (5:33.8) and 3,000 meters (12:05.4); Audrey Eckwahl took the 800 meters (2:51.4) and triple jump (27-0.5); and Brea Rubrecht claimed the shot put (27-1.5) and discus (83-4).

Elizabeth Malek (100-meter hurdles), Rhianna Woods (long jump) and Isabella DeGolier (high jump) were winners for Gowanda.

For the Frewsburg boys, Noah Erickson won the 400-meter hurdles (1:02.5) and triple jump (37-0) while Cole Vaughn took the 200 meters (23.6) and long jump (17-1).

FREDONIA GIRLS, CL/W/B BOYS WIN

FREDONIA - Fredonia and Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton split a highly competitive meet with the Hillbillies girls and Eagles boys winning their respective meets.

Mariella Russo was a double winner for Fredonia's girls with victories in the 100-meter hurdles (18.6) and 400-meter hurdles (1:13.1) while teammate Delaney Kaiser captured the 400 meters (1:02) and 200 meters (27.4) as the Hillbillies prevailed 73-64.

For Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton's girls, Jada Cole claimed the 100 meters (11.6), high jump (5-2) and triple jump (32-8) and Meredith Lendt won the 1,500 meters (5:26.2) and 3,000 meters (12:22.7).

In Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton's 71-65 boys victory, Michael Horvath won the 100 meters (11.6) and triple jump (36-5.5); Noah Tuah won the 400 meters (56.9) and long jump (18-11.5); and Walter Lukasiak took the shot put (36-11) and discus (143-10).

For the Hillbillies, Alex Cramer won the 800 meters (2:21.4) and 1,600 meters (5:17.7) while Nathan Keefe won the 110-meter hurdles (15.9) and 400-meter hurdles (1:02.2).

FALCONER - Southwestern beat Falconer/Cassadaga Valley in boys and girls action.

For the Trojans boys, Ryan Ohl was a triple winner in the 110-meter hurdles (16.2), 400-meter hurdles (1:01.1) and 200 meters (23.2); Donavin Brown won the 1,600 meters (5:00.8) and 800 meters (2:12.9); and Connor Young claimed the long jump (20-10) and triple jump (41-9) on their way to a 95-46 team victory.

Max Parmentier captured the high jump (5-8) and pole vault (9-6) for the Golden Cougars.

Krasa captured the 100 meters (11.4) and 200 meters (23.7); Whitney claimed the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.4) and long jump (19-1.5); and Fadale took the 1,600 meters (4:55.7) and 3,200 meters (11:10.9) for the Wolfpack.

For the girls, Woodring won the 100-meter hurdles (17.5) and long jump (15-7).
